Concord, Massachusetts is a town permanently intertwined with American history, and a popular tourist destination. The first conflicts of the American Revolutionary War were the Battles of Lexington & Concord, for which the Minute Man National Historical Park commemorates. The town is also home to the original & now nationally known concord grape. Concord was home to many American literary icons, like Henry David Thoreau, whose book Walden became the name of the pond where he spent over two years in isolation. Other popular tourist destinations include the Old North Bridge and the Orchard House, where Louisa May Alcott wrote her novel Little Women.
