Allston
Allston is an officially recognized neighborhood within Boston named after American painter & poet Washington Allston. It is administered with the adjacent neighborhood Brighton, and is often referred to as Allston-Brighton. It’s bordered by Boston neighborhoods Fenway-Kenmore & Brighton, as well as the town of Brookline. Allston is known for its large student population due to its close proximity to a number of colleges and universities, most notably BU and Harvard. Allston is also home to many immigrants, and Brighton Avenue is cherished for its numerous ethnic restaurants serving cuisines from around the world. Lower Allston is a rapidly changing subsection of Allston that is increasingly popular with young professionals and graduate students.
