Jamaica Plain is a historic neighborhood originally build up in the late eighteenth century when it was a summertime destination for wealthy Bostonians who built resort homes around the Jamaica Pond. Today JP, as it affectionately called, is a diverse neighborhood, economically, ethnically, and racially. It is also home to a mix of long-time residents and recent arrivals, families and single professionals, alike.
