Having worked with hundreds of buyers and sellers, Joe has helped individuals and developers to buy and sell real estate from modest to ultra-luxurious in neighborhoods from Back BayBeacon HillSouth End to cities like CambridgeSomerville and Lexington. Joe’s guidance has enabled his clients to discover new markets, to develop new ways of thinking about real estate and to achieve their lifestyle/business goals. Realtor of the year

A native of Massachusetts, Joe initially joined Gibson Sotheby's International Realty in 2003 and co-founded Unit Realty Group, a local Boston-based boutique brokerage, in 2012. Before establishing himself as a real estate professional, Joe worked in the fields of retail banking and investment management. He went on to earn the Realtor® designation in 2004 and has subsequently earned the Certified Residential Specialist, Accredited Buyer Representative, Seller Representative Specialist, Certified DRS Agent™, The Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist®, e-Pro and Greendesignations from the National Association of Realtors.

Professionally Joe has been recognized for industry excellence and currently serves or has served on the board of directors for the Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MAR), Greater Boston Association of Realtors(GBAR) and the Massachusetts Chapter of Certified Residential Specialists(CRS) as well as President of CRS for 2014. Joe is also involved with and has chaired many committees within the local Realtor organization including Technology, Education, Strategic Planning, Communications, Business Development and most recently Professional Standards Committee, Social Media Task Force, Realtor Political Action Committee Trustee and Young Professionals Network for GBAR and MAR. Joe has also served on the National Association of Realtors (NAR) Board of Directors as well as the Diversity Committee and RPAC Participation Council. JoeSchutt.com received an industry design excellence award from the MAR in 2008. Joe won the GBAR Realtor Spirit Award in 2011 has been a finalist for the GBAR Realtor of the Year award in 2011-2014 and received the Realtor of the Year award in 2016.

Despite having been recognized as a "top ranked" agent Joe finds time to be involved in the community throughout Boston. Currently he is member of the Neighborhood Association of Back BayBeacon Hill Civic Association and on the Board of Directors for Boston Cares. Additionally, Joe has held executive positions within the Boston Main Streets program, The Common Canine and the Boston Dog organization.

As anyone who knows Joe can tell you, he is driven by his passions. Topping that list are a marked love for Boston, helping and meeting new people, white glove service excellencegreen and sustainable living, his friends and community and his miniature schnauzer, Irving. If life wasn't already busy enough Joe finds time to participate in a thought leadership role on various blogs including his own and the many real estate focused communities on and off-line, Co-Director of the Inman News' Ambassador Program, organizer of RE Bar Camp Boston, trains other agents and consults with other brokerages. Additionally his opinions have been quoted in Financial Times, The Boston GlobeBoston HomesCambridge HomesREALTOR Magazine and on National Public Radio.
