Do you feel confident in self defense your abilities? If not, Girl Up Boston and Girl's Leap are hosting a Free Self Defense Class at the Vine Creek Community Center starting at 9:30am. The majority of those attending will be middle school, high school, and college girls; However all are welcome and no previous involvement is necessary.

If you are extra adventurous this weekend, definitely consider trekking on the Snow Moon Beach Hike through the dunes of the crane Wildfire Refuge in Ipswich. The night sky will be transformed, and hopefully illuminated by the glow of the full moon reflected off the snow. February was known by Algonquin tribes as the month of the Snow Moon. As hunting was often difficult during this month, some Native American tribes also called this the Hunger Moon. The hike is 3-4 miles long, so venture if you dare!

Best,Joe
