City Happenings: December 19th & 20th

Saturday, December 19th

  • Boston Pops 2020 Holiday Celebration - Portions of this Holiday Pops program were filmed at Fenway Park, where team mascot Wally participated in the recording festivities. Keith Lockhart leads the Boston Pops Orchestra in holiday classics old and new to both inspire you with hope and create holiday cheer this year. From the Pops’ classic "Sleigh Ride" and brilliant "Twelve Days of Christmas" to jazzy arrangements of traditional favorites, you’ll also hear "O Holy Night," "Home for the Holidays," a virtual performance with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, and a special new reading of "A Visit from St. Nicholas" ("‘Twas the Night Before Christmas").

  • ZooLights in Stoneham – ZooLights, presented by National Grid, is set to dazzle visitors of all ages this holiday season! This winter wonderland will take you on a one-way stroll through the Zoo, along tree-lined paths lit by twinkling lights. Spanning 26 acres, experience that magic of several beautiful large-scale lantern displays around the Zoo.

Sunday, December 20th

  • Sparkling Wines ~ how they're made, and why they're so delicious – Sparkling wines are absolutely delightful. In this class, we'll talk about all three ways of making bubbles, the history of sparkling wine, and why it's just the best wine category in the world (okay okay, subjective). We'll taste two wines and talk through the producers and how they're made. This is a great class for anyone, no matter your wine knowledge. See you online!

  • Holiday plant pop-up shop – Join Arbor & Flora for a pop-up shop this weekend, just in time to snag some last-minute holiday gifts! We will be stocked with tons of new products and plants and available to chat about woodworking or design projects. Arbor & Flora is a new Boston-based woodworking and plant design studio.
