Dog Owner Resources: Licensing, Rules & Regulations by City

How to Renew your Dog's License

Being a dog parent is extremely rewarding, and can also be a lot of work! You're probably so wrapped up in taking care of your dog on a day-to-day basis that renewing your dog's license every year is not exactly top of mind. The goal of this post is to provide Greater Boston dog owners with the necessary resources in one place without having to dig around those pesky government websites.

If you're a dog owner in the cities of Boston, Cambridge, or Newton, licenses must be renewed every year by March 31st. For the cities of Brookline or Somerville, licenses must be renewed every year by December 31st.
