Cactus
Cacti are great options for house plants because they don't take much work. They thrive in a warm, sunny environment, so placement by a window is great to help these plants flourish. They only need to be watered when the soil is completely dry, which may be between 2-6 weeks. The best part about cacti are there are many different sizes, shapes and colors to choose from.
Umbrella Tree
The Umbrella Tree is a great option for a larger space because it is fast growing, but it is easy to maintain the size. You can clip the tops of this plant to keep it relatively small, or let it grow as large as it can. This plant will grow towards the light, so it will need to be rotated every month and watered every 1-2 weeks.
Monstera Plant
A Monstera plant loves bright, indirect sunlight, so it can be placed in a room with lots of windows but doesn't need to be in the direct sun. This plant can grow quite large, so it is a great option for a bigger space. It only needs to be watered when the soil is dry.
Aloe Vera
Aloe plant is a visually interesting plant which makes it a great option to add color and style to your home. It only needs to be watered every 3 weeks, but it does need to be near a window where it will receive at least 4 hours of sunlight a day. The best part about this plant is it also provides aloe vera when its leaves are sliced open, which is great for burns and cuts.
Chinese Money Plant
This plant thrives in low light so it is a great option for any room, and especially for apartments that may not have a lot of natural light. The Chinese Money plant grows very slowly and will only reach 8-12 in. tall, so it is a relatively small plant great for any place in the home. This plant doesn't need much water, just enough to keep the soil moist.
