'Tis the season for cookouts and barbecues! Upgrade your outdoor kitchen or grill area with a DIY island.
1. Aquire a metal kitchen cart from a thrift store or tag sale and make sure to clean it well to remove any grease or grime.
2. Get a mildew and mold resistant shower curtain of your choice. You can skip this step but this adds a bit of style and personalization!
3. Cut the fabric to the size of the bottom shelf and apply a layer of decoupage with a paint brush directly on the shelf. Place the piece of fabric on top and smooth down any creases, then add another layer of decoupage directly on top of the fabric.
4. Create additional storage by adding a shoe rack to the bottom shelf to hold plates, cups or bottles.
You now have a durable cart that will create extra storage for your outdoor space and make all your summer parties easy and fun!
