How To Organize Your Closet

As the seasons start to change, it's a great time to organize your closet! Bring your favorite fall clothes to the front and donate any clothes that you didn't wear this summer!

The best way to start your closet clean out is to go through each piece of clothing and sort it into piles. Sort your clothes into what you love and wear often, what you love but only occasionally wear, and what you haven't worn in months or no longer fits. Anything that you don't wear or doesn't fit, donate! Then go through the clothes you occasionally wear to decide if you will wear it again in the next three months, or if it was a trendy piece that you may never wear again and keep or donate based on your decision.

Next, begin to rehang your clothes in the closet. Once everything is back on their hangers, organize your clothes by item. Start with short sleeve shirts, then long sleeve, then sweaters, etc. You can also organize your clothing by color, season, or whatever works best for you! That way whenever you are looking for a specific item or outfit you know exactly where to look.

Finally, add hanging shelves and a shoe rack to your closet to store your pants, t-shirts, and other items that may not need to be hung. You can also add hooks to store bags, just make sure everything in your closet has a place!
